Fun Feet Facts

Do you appreciate just how cool your feet really are?

Here are some cool interesting facts about the foot for you.

Look above this for my short video on some really cool things about your feet.

The foot has 26 bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments, 19 muscles.

• A person takes an average of 8,000-10,000 steps per day.

• Walking ground reaction force is 1-1.5 x body weight
(as I mention in the video)

The ground reaction goes up as you change what you do as you can see from running to jumping.

So those of you that love to run, it's important your tissues are able to deal with that increase in force - when they are not - thats when you tend to get pain.

• Running ground reaction force is 3−4 x body weight.

• Jumping and landing ground reaction force is 10 x body weight

The foot is the interface between the ground and the rest of the body, therefore any disruption in foot biomechanics must impact the alignment of the knees, hips and lower back.

If you would like to learn more jump into my focus on the feet course - the foot knee hip connection - designed to keep you on your feet, pain free and allow you to enjoy the sports you enjoy.

This course is designed to teach you how to identify common foot imbalances, and understand how each foot type impacts biomechanical dysfunction in the knees and hips - and how you can design your fitness /rehab program to improve foot and body posture.

This course is ideal for CPD for the health professional, the personal trainer looking to up-skill and really get ahead of the game when it comes to taking human movement and dysfunction to another level to get the best results for their clients. Or for the individual who is keen to dig deeper and take a deep dive into their own mechanics and understand their dysfunctions, be able to test and know what to then do about it.

The biomechanical function of the foot is the connection between the ground and the rest of the body. Get to know your feet!
